26-Yr-Old Prosecutor Dies Three Weeks After Meeting in Accident

A young prosecutor died in hospital on Sunday morning, three weeks after meeting in a motor vehicle accident in Hanover.

According to Loop News, 26-year-old Jason Alliman from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) was on his way back to Kingston after attending a special sitting of the Court of Appeal in Hanover, when his vehicle collided with another motorcar on December 7 in Orange Bay.

He suffered serious head injuries and had to undergo emergency brain surgery, and had been in a coma since then.

His family had launched a crowd funding appeal on GoFundMe to raise money to pay his medical expenses.

The DPP, Paula Llewelyn, had also taken a personal interest in the road conditions which are believed to have contributed to the accident involving the young prosecutor.

She contended that the Orange Bay Main Road surface is similar to the notorious Braco Main Road in Trelawny, which when badly scoured, poses serious challenges with skidding of vehicles, especially when the surface is slightly wet.
