Son Accidentally Kills Mom With Coaster Bus in Portland
A visit by a son to his mother in the Hectors River area of Portland ended in tragedy last Friday leaving residents of the area in mourning.
According to the Gleaner, The tragic sequence of events saw a senior citizen being killed by the Coaster bus her son drove to visit her.
About 10:30 p.m. on Friday, the driver of the bus, whose name is being withheld, stopped at the house of his 68-year-old mother, Myrtle Wright, for a brief visit.
He was reversing the bus, unaware that his mother was behind the vehicle, and accidentally hit her down.
“He was just trying to make his way home so he turned and was reversing on to the main road when he hit her,” said a police constable who visited the scene shortly after the accident.
“He wasn’t drunk or anything. He said he just didn’t see her behind the bus; it was just a tragic and unfortunate situation.”
Wright was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital in the parish where she died while undergoing treatment .
She is the first road fatality in Portland for this year.

I grew up around these people….they are my mom neighbour and i pray for all her children Erica, Winston , Karen and especially the one involved in the accident…hope they dont blame him, may Myrtle soul rest in peace
