No Luck for Buju – Entertainer Fails to Secure New Trial
Popular Jamaican entertainer Buju Banton has not been successful in his bid to secure a new trial.
He was arrested in the US on drug charges in 2009 and convicted in 2011 on a charge of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
US Court of Appeals judges, sitting in Atlanta Georgia on Wednesday ruled that they did not have the jurisdiction to hear the matter as they are without the power to dispose of the issues.
This means, that for now, Buju Banton, whose given name is Mark Myrie, will have to continue to serve his ten-year prison sentence.
He is scheduled to be released in 2019.
He had filed a motion in court, in an attempt to secure an earlier release date, under a recent change in federal drug sentencing guidelines.

This is a perfect ceniro of what to expect when you are a so called gay basher in a society where they become the criminal to incriminate you imagine the law have a right rights to sell drugs to would be buyer to arrest them so they themselves become the criminal to catch a criminal where is the justice in that a criminal is a criminal. If the law says it’s illegal to perform a homosexual act then it is illegal. Stop trying to change the laws in other people”s country Evon Bennet . The gays can keep running the world until God destroys you all. Bashing is one thing but unholding what is right is another. I don’t believe in judging people either because that is God’s right. but Buju’s sentencing has nothing to do with his song against homosexuality.
