Sean Paul Cancels Performance after receiving Death Threats
Jamaican Dancehall entertainer Sean Paul has erred on the side of caution by cancelling a scheduled New Year’s performance in the Maldives after receiving death threats.
In a video posted to YouTube on Christmas day, alleged terrorists stated “Sean Paul, if you visit the Maldives, the world will see your burned and blood-drenched dead body”.
Since the chilling video was posted, many persons have pleaded with the entertainer to cancel his performance.
Sean issued the following statement to the media on Monday:
“Unfortunately, the world has reached a point where cyber threats must affect real life decisions. With that said, due to safety concerns for my crew and the people of the Maldives attending the Tourist Arrival Countdown, it is with deep regret that I have come to the difficult decision to cancel my appearance,” Sean Paul’s statement read in part.
Should he have canceled his performance? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Yes, Absolutely. Cancel. These people are not just a religious group they are also a political group that must be taken seriously based on their actions and behavior worldwide.
I am a freelance media present as well as a lyricist and I would do the very same as Sean and cancel, more gigs will come but not another life.
Of course cancel, these people are crazy with no regard for life, no money is worth that.
