Parody of Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry” Goes Viral

In the past week some women in Saudi Arabia have been bravely defying a driving ban and continue to get behind the steering wheel. – Many women posted videos of themselves driving  on YouTube – but the video receiving the greatest response worldwide was a video made by a Saudi Arabian comedian by the name of Fageeh.

The satirical video is set to the tune of Bob Marley’s No Woman, No Cry, with the words changed to focus on driving.

Within two days of being posted online, the video has garnered over three million views on YouTube. It is the most popular YouTube video in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab countries, and has exploded in popularity in many countries across the world.

Some women who defied the ban shared his video, suggesting they chose to see it as complementary to their cause rather than overshadowing it.
