Khadija Shaw Wins Historic Third Straight WSL Golden Boot

Khadija “Bunny” Shaw closed the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League season in emphatic fashion, scoring twice against West Ham United to secure the Golden Boot after another dominant campaign for Manchester City.

The Jamaican forward ended the league season with 21 goals from just 22 appearances, becoming the first player in Women’s Super League history to finish as top scorer in three consecutive seasons. She previously shared the award with Alessia Russo in 2024/25 before winning it outright the year prior.

Her final-day brace also pushed Shaw to 100 goal involvements in the WSL, with the City striker contributing 82 goals and 18 assists in England’s top flight.

Another historic achievement followed during the campaign as Shaw became the first player in league history to hit the 20-goal mark in three different seasons. Her scoring form stretched across nearly the entire division, with goals recorded against 10 of Manchester City’s 11 league opponents.

Among the standout moments of the season was a four-goal performance against Aston Villa in December. The opening strike in that match also marked Shaw’s 100th goal for Manchester City.

Since joining City in 2021, Shaw has established herself as one of the club’s most prolific players. The Jamaican has now scored 117 goals in 137 appearances across all competitions and became Manchester City’s all-time leading scorer in March 2024.

Her consistency in front of goal has also placed her among the most productive players in WSL history. Shaw now has 83 league goals in 93 appearances, with only Beth England and Vivianne Miedema scoring more in the competition.

The striker’s first goal of the current league campaign arrived in Manchester City’s opening home fixture of the season when she headed home in a 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Shaw also found the net against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United during the campaign, with only Sam Kerr previously managing to score against every other top-four side in a single WSL season.
