Jamaican Man Narrowly Escapes Explosive Death in The Virgin Islands
A Jamaican man must now be counting his lucky stars after escaping what could have easily been his fiery demise.
According to BVI News, yesterday afternoon (February 5) the man’s motor vehicle caught fire and exploded minutes after he exited it in the Huntum’s Ghut area of Tortola(Tortola is the largest and most populated of the British Virgin Islands).
The fire eventually spread to a second vehicle that was in close proximity.
No one was injured in the incident.
“I saw smoke coming from the back [of the vehicle]. Mi pull over and, about five minutes later, it explode,” a seemingly shaken Ralston Brown told a BVI News Online reporter at the scene in Huntum’s Ghut.
Brown, who resides in Horsepath, stated that he had just completed business in Road Town and was heading home when the unfortunate incident took place around 3 pm.
Members of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services, who were called to the scene, have managed to put out the blaze.
It is still not clear what caused the fire.
