At the 48th Ordinary Congress of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), held yesterday at the Royalton Hotel in St. Lucia, Michael Ricketts, President of the Jamaica Football Federation, was elected unopposed as vice-president of the CFU.

The congress also saw Lyndon Cooper of St. Lucia elected as the new CFU president, succeeding Randolph Harris of Barbados.

Cooper, who has served as vice-president of the CFU Executive Committee since 2012, was elected by acclamation, as no other candidates contested the position. His appointment aligns with the CFU statutes.

Joining Ricketts on the CFU Executive Committee are John Krishnadath of Suriname, Jean Dartron of Guadeloupe, and Ivan Rivera of Puerto Rico.

Additionally, the committee includes Glen Etienne of Dominica, Anya James of the Bahamas, Gordon Connor of Anguilla, and Mark Wade of Bermuda.

Outgoing CFU president Randolph Harris, who stepped down from his role, was elected by acclamation as a member of the FIFA Council during Concacaf’s 40th Ordinary Congress on Saturday.

The newly elected officials will now lead the CFU in its ongoing efforts to develop and promote football across the Caribbean region.
