Jamaicans Advised to Prepare for Heavy Rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica has issued a forecast for increased rainfall across the island, starting today and continuing until Wednesday.

The weather disturbance is due to an upper-level trough currently located across the southwestern Cjustiaribbean, which is expected to move over the country on Tuesday and linger until Wednesday.

The forecast predicts periods of showers and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, particularly affecting sections of north-western and south-central parishes.

The rain is expected to begin late Tuesday morning and continue through to Wednesday afternoon.

Given the anticipated weather conditions, fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution, as sea conditions are likely to deteriorate in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.

Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
