Sunshine Girls Dominate Statistics in Suncorp Super Netball League
Sunshine Girls standouts Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and Shamera Sterling-Humphrey are leading several statistical categories at the conclusion of Round 2 in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.
Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard, who plays as a shooter for the undefeated West Coast Fever, continues to dominate the scoring charts with an impressive tally of 133 goals, making her the top scorer in the league.
Additionally, Fowler-Nembhard leads in offensive rebounds with 11 and has earned the highest Nissan Net Points at 283.
Her outstanding performance was highlighted in her last game, where she scored 63 goals from 65 shots, guiding her team to an 81-56 victory over the Sunshine Coast Lightning.
Shamera Sterling-Humphrey, the reigning league MVP and a key defender for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, leads the league with 15 deflections and 12 intercepts.
Her defensive skills are further underscored by her ranking second in Nissan Net Points with 232.5 and fourth in defensive rebounds, securing 4 in the current season.
Additionally, Romelda Aiken-George, also from the Adelaide Thunderbirds, is in second position in offensive rebounds with 10 and standing third in scoring with 76 goals.
Teammate Latanya Wilson, another defensive stalwart, ranks second in both deflections and intercepts, with tallies of 12 and 8 respectively.
Looking ahead, the Adelaide Thunderbirds trio of Wilson, Aiken-George, and Sterling-Humphrey will be in action against the Sunshine Coast Lightning in Round 3 as they aim to defend their championship title.
Meanwhile, Fowler-Nembhard will be a key player for the West Coast Fever as they face a challenging away game against the Melbourne Mavericks, which features star player Shimona Nelson.
