Final Ballot Count Completed for 178 out of 228 Electoral Divisions by Electoral Office
The Electoral Office has completed the final ballot count for 178 out of 228 divisions, while returning officers continue to count the ballots for the remaining 50 electoral divisions.
Thus far, the Jamaica Labour Party has secured 83 divisions, while the People’s National Party has obtained 90 divisions.
Two corporations that resulted in a tie in the preliminary count are under close observation: Kingston and St Andrew, and Clarendon.
Regarding the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation, the EOJ has completed the count for 29 out of 40 divisions. Of these, the JLP has 13, while the PNP has 16.
In Clarendon, counting is finished for 19 of 22 divisions.
The JLP holds 11, while the PNP has 8 divisions.
