The Cost of Corruption in Jamaica (Video)

Just days after posting this video the global news media was in a frenzy over the indictments and subsequent arrests of some of FIFA’s top brass and the news that Football coach and veteran artiste “Admiral” Bailey pleaded guilty in court to forgery in relation to the false documents he attempted to submit to the Passport Office earlier this year.

We don’t need to look very far to realize that corruption takes varied sizes and shapes.

What is more disturbing though is the seeming normalization of corruption, the ways in which there seems to be systematic desensitization to the scourge of corruption.

I raise the issues because life as we know it is not sustainable in an environment of such levels of mistrust and lack of integrity.  Let us keep the conversation going and seek ways to lift ourselves from the quagmire that we have dropped into.

So true. My heros growing up in Jamaica. And the heroes I hear of today when I speak with the younger generation. Just wow. .. Our ideologies of caring and loving one another has changed. Right now It’s every man for himself. And once that happens the entire ship is going to sink.
