Walter ‘The Pearl’ Boyd to Participate in Advanced JFF coaching course

Former national striker Walter Boyd is among a group of 32 individuals enlisted to participate in the 15th Advanced Level One Coaching Course under the JMMB/JFF/Utech coaching school.

The course which gets underway on Monday will be held at the JFF Football Center, the location of Jamaica’s FIFA Goal Project.

As well as Boyd, the group also includes current national player Montrose Phinn and a high number of youth coaches at the club; school and community level.

The Opening Session will be addressed by President of the JFF, Captain Horace Burrell and representatives of sponsor Joan Duncan Foundation (a member of the JMMB Group) and the University of Technology.

  

The course is scheduled to end on February 14.

Walter Boyd Blacka Pearl the pearl Best Jamaican footballer striker world cup 98The JFF in the meantime recently announced that as of September 1, 2014, coaches wishing to participate in Federation sanctioned competitions must be in possession of a JFF coach’s license.

The licensing period will span September 1, 2014 to august 31, 2016 and is renewable every two years.

Coaches will also have to complete 8 hours of refresher courses per year of which 4 must be a JFF conducted course.
