Our Teachers Are Not Political Puppets

It is evident that over time Jamaicans have given the mantle of LEADERSHIP to people who are ignorant.

When a mayor dares to make the comment and I quote that “PNP teachers” SHOULD take the govt’s wage offer as the “JLP teachers” want to derail the IMF program”, it truly highlights the fact that civil servants are NOT RESPECTED by those higher up on the chain.

So I guess this mayor in all his arrogance, pomp and pride, has done a survey to find out which teachers support the PNP and which support the JLP. Clearly, ANYONE who would make such a suggestion, is an imbecile and in need of SERIOUS mental care.

It is also blatantly CLEAR that such people have absolutely no clue. Without our teachers, each of us would be as ignorant and illiterate as he appears to be. Our teachers, police officers and other civil servants should not have to strike for any government to understand that they should be adequately compensated.

These are the people who (ESPECIALLY IN JAMAICA), put their lives on the line to ensure that Jamaicans are educated and protected, and with what many of these teachers have to put up with from students, they should not have to be begging for a PITTANCE, while politicians sit down, doing nothing, while still collecting a HUGE paycheck.

I would urge the Prime Minister to act swiftly on this matter and address the teachers ASAP. I would also urge her to condemn that comment made by that mayor. He is not fit or capable of holding such a seat when he wishes to use politics to create further divide and chaos in a country where many are political fanatics.

There is a TIME and PLACE for everything. One should know when to use politics to gain favor and when to simply shut up.
