The Children of Jamaica are Not PNP or JLP, They Are Jamaican
It is amazing to see the murder of our children become fodder for political platforms on social media.
At what point do we get it that neither the JLP or the PNP can fix what has been broken for years?
Children have been molested and abused in Jamaica and communities and family members remain SILENT because for many it has become the norm and it becomes easier to blame poverty and the government.
When the truth is WE are not protecting our kids and doing what is necessary to ensure their safety and well being.
In the past three weeks, two 14 year old girls were brutally murdered because they were pregnant.
One by a man who claimed that the mother of the child asked him to assist to help the child out with money, and as such she became his toy to do with as he pleased and when she got pregnant for him a second time, not wanting his wife to find out, he took the life of the child.
The other child had her neck partially severed allegedly by a relative. A person who should have been her protector was allegedly having sex with her and is suspected of being her killer.
Then we have a seven year old boy who was allegedly brutally raped by a man known to him in his district, and for once I say with no apologies that IF the video I saw on television depicting the man being beaten BRUTALLY by a mob is true, I say thank God for vigilante justice.
The court system in Jamaica does not offer much in the way of JUSTICE.
The truth is we have a society of SICK, DEPRAVED, DEMENTED ADULTS, who will prey on our children, and sadly not too many of us get the point that this is not a JLP or a PNP ISSSUE.
It is a JAMAICAN issue and requires each and every one of us to do something about it.
If the news had said “Gay Jamaican Man Beaten and Killed” every international agency, every human rights organization, would be over it like ‘stink on a monkey’, yet the silence from these quarters is DEAFENING, especially the SILENCE OF THE CHURCH.
It now requires Jamaicans to put aside the partisan politics and get to the point where they understand that this takes ALL of us to fix as a people and as a country.
We need to STOP pointing fingers (myself included) and begin to do what is necessary to PROTECT OUR CHILDREN.

Very well said, though there was one thing I have to disagree with: “The court system in Jamaica does not offer much in the way of JUSTICE.” If that were true we would still be clueless about Shanoya’s murderer who was on trial and has been convicted. I have being saying the same thing they are ours all who live in Jamaica .we need as parents to look after them wither they are yours or mine they are ours let our voices be heard for our children.

We parents need to do better too. It happens more often than we care to imagine where mothers “put out” their daughters for financial gain. Stop it…. you are destroying your little girls life before it begins
