Billionaires wage bidding war to hear Tessanne Chin sing!

Just how much money are people willing to ‘shell’ out to hear Tessanne Chin sing?

Quite alot it seems. According to a report from the Toronto Star, Toronto-based philanthropists Michael-Lee Chin and Raymond Chang are reported to have got into an unplanned bidding war to persuade season 5 winner of ‘The Voice’, Jamaica’s Tessanne Chin to sing her first song on Canadian soil.

According to the report, Chin was being honoured at a fundraising banquet held by the University of the West Indies at the Ritz Carlton in Toronto.

Tessanne Chin paid 40,000 to sing three songs Canada Michael Lee Chin Raymond ChangThe Jamaican was not scheduled to sing on her visit to Canada, however a ‘spur of the moment’ bidding saw the auctioneer Gordon Greesy begin the process and both Mr. Lee-Chin and Mr. Chang joined along.

  

In the end $40,000 was placed for Tessanne to sing three songs, and she did them in acapella.

Chin began with ‘Bridge over troubled water’, then sang ‘Redemption Song, before topping it off with her own single’ Hideaway’.

Proceeds of the bid will go towards scholarships for the University of the West Indies. Tessanne Chin will be back in Canada for a May 17 concert at the Sony Centre.
