Alert: Tropical Wave Approaching Jamaica

A Tropical Wave is currently positioned just east of Jamaica, according to Jamaica’s Meteorological Service, and is expected to move across the island later today, progressing westward by Saturday.

This weather system is generating extensive showers and thunderstorms as it traverses the central Caribbean, likely leading to unstable weather conditions over Jamaica during this period.

Due to recent rainfall from Hurricane Beryl and resulting ground saturation, there is a high risk of flooding and landslides.

Additionally, windy conditions are anticipated to intensify starting Saturday due to the presence of a Low-Level Jet Stream.
