Jamaica in Pot 1 Ahead of CONCACAF Nations League “A” Draw
The official draw for the Concacaf Nations League is set to take place in Miami on Monday, May 6.
The draw will determine the groups for all three leagues: A, B, and C, in the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Jamaica, buoyed by recent successes, is set to be placed in Pot 1 of League A alongside regional powerhouses like Costa Rica.
The draw, which follows the format of the preceding edition, will see teams distributed into leagues based on their performance in the 2023/24 season.
League A will feature 16 teams and a quarterfinal round.
The group stage draw will involve six pots for League A, each pot housing teams based on their Concacaf rankings as of March 31, 2024.
In a Swiss-style league system, the 12 lowest-ranked League A national teams will be split into two groups of six, with each team playing a total of four games.
Come September and October, the first and second place finishers from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, joining the top-ranked League A teams in their quest for glory.
Already pre-seeded in the quarterfinals are football giants Mexico, United States, Panama, and Canada.
The finals, which will determine the new champion, are scheduled for March 2025.
