Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, the remarkable striker for Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz and Manchester City in England, has garnered a well-deserved nomination for the esteemed 2022/2023 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

The Women’s Players’ Player of the Year award by the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) is an annual accolade presented to the top performer of the year in English women’s football.

This award has been granted since the 2012-13 season, and the recipient is designated through a vote among the members of the players’ trade union, the PFA. The reigning titleholder is Sam Kerr of Australia.

In an astonishing sophomore season, Shaw’s performance has been nothing short of exceptional.

With an astounding 31 goals in 30 games across all competitions, accompanied by an impressive tally of 9 assists, she has undoubtedly displayed her prowess on the field.

Shaw’s extraordinary achievements have deservedly earned her a prominent spot on the six-person short-list for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

Her presence has been deeply felt in the Barclays Women’s Super League, where she recorded an impressive score of 20 goals in 22 matches.

This remarkable feat secured her second place in the Golden Boot race and saw her break the club’s record for the highest number of goals scored in a single season.

Moreover, the 26-year-old talent showcased her remarkable skills in various prestigious tournaments.

She found the back of the net twice in consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, as well as twice in two Continental Cup fixtures. Notably, she also scored seven goals in just three FA Cup appearances.
