Man Escapes From COVID-19 Quarantine Centre, Later Captured By Police
A 27-year old managed to escape from a COVID-19 quarantine centre about 7:40 last evening but has been captured.
The man arrived in the island on Saturday, March 7 and was placed at the quarantine centre in Kingston.
He was subsequently allowed to retrieve a bag with personal items from someone at the gate of the facility, and whilst doing so, he jumped into a white Nissan Tiida motor car which sped off with him.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) issued the following statement this morning announcing the man’s capture:
“Following the issuing of a public advisory by the police, we received information that he was at a location in the Waltham Park area. An operation was conducted and he was held in the company of a female. Extensive investigations are now underway.”
The JCF added:
“The man who escaped from the quarantine centre has been captured. Kemar Bailey who escaped from the centre about 7:40 pm last evening is back in quarantine after he was picked up by the Jamaica Constabulary and a team from the Ministry of Health at about 2 am today.”
