“Smile and laugh…your enemies hate it” – Prime Minister tells Lisa Hanna
Minister of Youth and Culture Lisa Hanna is no stranger to controversy.
In recent times many will agree that she has received more than her due share of criticism.
Three of the four sitting PNP councillors in Hanna’s St Ann South East constituency have expressed their desires to see her replaced before the next general election.
During challenging times it’s always great to have someone offer words of upliftement and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller did just that.
Hanna shared some advice she received from the Prime Minister recently on Instagram:
“My Prime Minister is a stealthy politician has given me helpful advice on many issues. Here is one that I will share with all of you. ‘Smile and enjoy your life, life is too short…people will always have something negative to say about you and will fight you in all things… So no matter what, even in the political battles, smile and laugh…your enemies hate it…” Hanna said.

Go forward Minister Hanna,
Sure, and while smiling and laughing, make sure the business of the people who elected you is being attended to!
Ahhhh smiling is a good medicine!
Ahhhh smiling is a good medicine!
And again I say; love your enemies, bless them that curse you and despitefully use you! Pray for those who spew nothing more than venom and hate. A joyful heart is good medicine, not a plastic smile or hypocritical laugh aimed at angering someone already in anguish!
tells you something about her intelligence and level of maturity that this is something Ms. Hanna felt was appropriate to share on social media. She is a much better beauty queen than she is a politician and children’s advocate IMO

Solid advice from the PM
Minister Hanna is an intelligent, civil minded woman. What is all this crap about about her. Leave the woman alone to do her job. Everything she does there’s someone groaning. If they aren’t watching how she dresses it is something else smh
Who is more destabilizing to the development and progress of Jamaica? Is it the politicians or the polarized individuals, who only see things along party lines?
It’s kind of disturbing that the fact that three out of four sitting councillors from her party want to see her go is being overlooked. I think that this speaks volumes in a democracy and should be the main point of emphasis. Smiling and laughing in the face of criticism is certainly good advice for personal well being but in so much as political duties are concerned, it is highly irrelevant.
