Caribbean Cup Draw Set as Race for Champions Cup Spots Intensifies

The pathway to the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup will be shaped by the outcome of this year’s Caribbean campaign, with three teams ultimately earning qualification, including a direct round-of-16 entry for the eventual winner.
That opportunity will be contested through the Concacaf Caribbean Cup, where the finalists and third-place finisher secure places in the next edition of the Champions Cup, reinforcing the tournament’s importance in the regional football calendar.
Attention now turns to the upcoming draw, scheduled for May 26, which will determine the composition of the 10-team field set to compete for continental advancement.
At this stage, three clubs have already confirmed their participation, including Cibao FC alongside Trinidad and Tobago representatives Sando FC and Defence Force FC.
The remaining seven places in the competition are still to be filled, with additional qualifiers expected to emerge in the coming weeks, including both the champions and runners-up of the Jamaica Premier League.
Meanwhile, the title holders heading into the new edition are Mount Pleasant FA, who currently sit as defending champions of the Caribbean Cup.
