Three Debutants Included in Jamaica’s World Cup Squad
Jamaica has announced a 26-player squad for the decisive stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series, with three debutants included and several regulars absent.
Missing from the roster are captain Andre Blake, winger Leon Bailey, attacker Bobby Reid and defender Joel Latibeaudiere, who have all been ruled out of the first fixtures.
Making a comeback is forward Shamar Nicholson, while four players from the domestic league—Shaquan Davis, Tafari Chambers, Jahshaun Anglin and Warner Brown—are also selected.
First-time call-ups have been given to Inter Miami’s Ian Fray, New York Red Bulls defender Kyle Duncan and Bailey Cadamarteri of Sheffield Wednesday. The squad was confirmed by head coach Steve McClaren.
The list reads as follows:
Goalkeepers – Shaquan Davis, Jahmali Waite, Tafari Chambers
Defenders – Dexter Lembikisa, Kyle Duncan, Damion Lowe, Richard King, Ethan Pinnock, Mason Holgate, Amari’i Bell, Greg Leigh
Midfielders – Isaac Hayden, Ian Fray, Jon Russell, Kasey Palmer, Karoy Anderson, Jahshaun Anglin, Kevon Lambert
Forwards – Kaheim Dixon, Demarai Gray, Renaldo Cephas, Tyreece Campbell, Warner Brown, Bailey Cadamarteri, Michail Antonio, Shamar Nicholson.
The Reggae Boyz open their Group B schedule on September 5 when they travel to face Bermuda at the Bermuda National Sports Centre, before returning to Kingston to play Trinidad and Tobago on September 9.
Fixtures continue with an away encounter against Curaçao on October 10, followed by a home meeting with Bermuda four days later.
November will conclude the round, as the Boyz meet Trinidad and Tobago in Port of Spain on the 13th and then host Curaçao at the National Stadium on the 18th.
