Reggae Boyz Invited to Four-Nation Tournament in England
Jamaica’s senior men’s football team has reportedly received an invitation to compete in a four-nation tournament.
The event, set to take place in June, will be hosted by England and is expected to also feature Ghana and Nigeria.
According to a report by GBC Ghana Online, the competition will provide a platform for participating teams to refine their preparations for upcoming major international events.
Additionally, it serves as an early build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
While awaiting further details on the tournament, the Reggae Boyz are also gearing up for another major competition.
The team secured a place in the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup after defeating St. Vincent and the Grenadines 3-0 in the second leg of their preliminary round fixture at Sabina Park.
That result sealed a 4-1 aggregate victory and confirmed Jamaica’s 14th appearance in the regional showpiece event.
Several other nations booked their spots through the qualification process.
Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, and Suriname have all joined the list of teams advancing to the Gold Cup.
They will compete alongside pre-qualified nations such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Haiti, Curacao, and the Dominican Republic, as well as invited team Saudi Arabia.
The draw for the tournament is scheduled for April 10. SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will host the opening match, while the final is set to take place at NRG Stadium in Houston.
