Heimir Hallgrímsson Resigns as Head Coach of Jamaica’s Senior Men’s National Team
Heimir Hallgrímsson has resigned as the head coach of Jamaica’s senior men’s national team, following their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Venezuela in the Copa America group stage.
The Jamaica Football Federation confirmed his resignation in a statement, acknowledging Hallgrímsson’s efforts to raise the team’s standards during his two-year tenure.
The federation expressed gratitude for his commitment and wished him success in his future endeavors.
With the Concacaf Nations League and the FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the JFF’s Technical Committee will now commence the search for a new coach.
Hallgrímsson had two years remaining on his contract, and it remains uncertain whether his coaching staff, including assistant John Wall, will continue with the team.
