Forbes Replaces Jackson in Women’s 100 Metres at Paris Olympics

Shashalee Forbes has been named to replace Shericka Jackson in the women’s 100 metres at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

The decision was communicated to Forbes by team management late on Tuesday following a technical meeting.

Originally, the Jamaican team was set to feature Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Shericka Jackson, and Tia Clayton in the highly anticipated event, based on their performances at the National Championships.

However, recent developments have led to a change in the lineup.

On Monday, reports surfaced indicating that Jackson, the reigning 200 metres World Champion, had been dealing with an injury.

This raised concerns about her ability to compete at her usual high standard. Despite these reports, Jackson’s coach, Stephen Francis, reassured fans on Tuesday that the 30-year-old sprinter was fit.

Francis, however, declined to address claims that Jackson had sought treatment from renowned sports doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.
