Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw to Miss Rest of Women’s Super League Season Due to Injury

Record-breaking Reggae Girlz striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw will be sidelined for the remainder of the Women’s Super League (WSL) season in England after sustaining a foot injury.

Manchester City, her club, confirmed the news, revealing that Shaw suffered the injury last Sunday following a remarkable performance where she scored twice, leading her team to a resounding 5-0 victory over West Ham United.

Shaw’s absence is a significant blow to Manchester City, as she has been the leading scorer in the league and a pivotal player for the team.

In the match against West Ham United, Shaw etched her name in the history books by becoming the only player to have a goal contribution in 10 consecutive matches.

The 27-year-old forward underwent scans during the week, which revealed the extent of her injury, prompting the decision for her to miss the final three matches of Manchester City’s WSL title pursuit.

A club statement released today confirmed Shaw’s situation, stating, “The forward will now begin her rehabilitation at the City Football Academy under the care of the club’s medical team.”

Shaw, who was recently crowned the Concacaf Women’s Player of The Year, has been a sensation in the WSL this season, leading the scoring charts with an impressive tally of 21 goals in just 18 appearances.
