Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard, captain of Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls has achieved yet another remarkable milestone in her illustrious career.
The towering Jamaican netballer recently etched her name into the annals of netball history by scoring her 8000th national league goal during a scintillating performance for the West Coast Fever.
Fowler-Nembhard’s milestone moment came during an encounter against the Melbourne Mavericks in round 3 of the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.
With the former champions West Coast Fever aiming for victory, Fowler-Nembhard scored an impressive 50 goals from 50 attempts to lead her team to a hard-fought 69-62 win.
Entering the game on 7958 goals, Fowler-Nembhard reached the historic milestone with her 42nd shot of the evening, ultimately ending the contest with an astonishing 8008 career goals.
Her exceptional performance was instrumental in maintaining the Fever’s undefeated streak, propelling them to the top of the table with a perfect record of 12 points.
Supporting Fowler-Nembhard’s heroics was goal-attack Shanice Beckford, who contributed 10 goals from 11 attempts, including crucial Super Shots, along with 15 goal-assists and 17 feeds.
Defender Kadie-Ann Dehaney also played a vital role with 2 intercepts and 5 gains, ensuring the Fever’s defensive solidity.
