Jamaica Names Squad for World Athletics Relays in Bahamas

The Jamaica Athletic Administrative Association (JAAA) has unveiled a 31-member squad for the upcoming World Athletics Relays set to electrify the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in the Bahamas on May 4 and 5.

Leading the charge are Ackeem Blake and Alana Reid. Both athletes have been listed in the respective 4x100m relay pools, joining a star-studded lineup that includes the likes of Kemba Nelson, Natasha Morrison, and Kadrian Goldson, the reigning University champion.

The squad boasts an impressive array of talent across the board, with World Indoor bronze medallist Rusheen McDonald, Olympic relay medallist Janieve Russell, and World 400m hurdles finalist Roshawn Clarke headlining the pool for the 4x400m and Mixed 4x400m relays.

Jamaica’s athletes are poised to contest the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays, as well as the highly anticipated Mixed 4x400m relay, promising an exhilarating showcase of speed, skill, and teamwork.

The management team is comprised of seasoned professionals, including Dennis May (Team Leader), Trevor Campbell and Jennifer Brown (Team Officials), and esteemed coaches such as Maurice Wilson, Paul Francis, Reynaldo Walcott, and Mark Elliott.

Dr. Yanique Weekes and Garfield Simmonds will provide medical support to the team.
