Privy Council to Deliver Ruling on Vybz Kartel Appeal Today
Social media platforms are buzzing with anticipation as fans eagerly await the outcome of Vybz Kartel’s appeal, with comments such as “Free World Boss” and “Outside mi deejay” flooding feeds.
Today, the UK Privy Council will deliver a ruling in the appeal seeking to overturn the murder conviction of incarcerated Dancehall icons Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm, along with their co-accused.
The Privy Council’s decision comes swiftly after the conclusion of court proceedings a month ago, where specific details regarding the case were heard in the United Kingdom on February 14 and 15.
Despite expectations that the final decision could take up to 12 weeks, the UK Privy Council has seemingly expedited the process, delivering its highly anticipated judgment at 11 am Jamaican time today, March 14.
The men, who are serving life sentences, are seeking to have their convictions overturned on the basis of alleged compromises during the trial held in the Kingston Home Circuit Court.
Among the claims raised are allegations of improperly obtained crucial cell phone evidence and accusations of a juror attempting to bribe others by offering J$500,000 for a specific outcome.
