Jaydon Hibbert Stuns with Unbelievable Standing Triple Jump Record in Training Session!

Jaydon Hibbert

Jamaica’s Jaydon Hibbert, the 19-year-old NCAA triple jump champion, recently smashed his own standing triple jump record in a riveting training session.

This accomplishment is causing waves within the track and field community.

The teenager soared to an astonishing 10.87m, surpassing his previous mark of 10.34m set just last year during his freshman year at the University of Arkansas.

Coach Travis Geopfert, confirming the remarkable feat, emphasised the half-meter improvement as a potential harbinger of greater accomplishments for Hibbert in this crucial Olympic year.

With his world-leading personal best standing at 17.87m, speculation is rife whether this training milestone indicates a trajectory toward surpassing both his own records and possibly Johnathan Edwards’ world record of 18.29m.

The year 2023 marked a historic milestone for Hibbert, who secured NCAA Indoor and Outdoor titles with record-breaking jumps of 17.54m and 17.87m, respectively—both ratified as World U20 records.

However, his campaign at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest was marred by a hamstring injury during the final, curtailing his participation after an impressive preliminary round performance.

Capping off an outstanding year, Hibbert added another accolade to his name in December by clinching the prestigious Bowerman Award.

In doing so, he became the first Jamaican and the youngest collegiate athlete ever to receive this esteemed honour.
