Bolt Graces Unveiling of Enchanting Paris 2024 Olympic Torch
On Tuesday, Usain Bolt, the renowned Jamaican sprinter and world record holder in the 100m and 200m, graced the unveiling of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic torch on the Seine River in France.
Expressing his joy at being there, Bolt recalled his fond memories of competing and spending time in the beautiful city of Paris.
The world’s fastest man is eagerly looked forward to the Olympics next year and revealed his plans to attend with his family.
At the event, Bolt received the torch from Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet, surrounded by numerous French athletes and IOC President Thomas Bach.
The torch was designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, a visionary, who sought to capture the enchanting essence of the iconic Eiffel Tower. The torch’s symmetrical form symbolises the spirit of equality among athletes.
Made of lightweight polished steel with a champagne hue, the lower half of the torch features a relief pattern inspired by the graceful movement of the Seine River, where the opening ceremony will take place, and is expected to attract over half a million spectators.
The torch lighting ceremony will take place on April 16 at the historic grounds of Olympia in Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Games.
From there, the flame will begin its momentous journey, signifying the start of the highly anticipated Paris Games, scheduled to unfold in the French capital on July 26, 2024.
