Londoners’s latest kit is a geometric print in the colours of the Jamaican flag

A Jamaica-inspired pre-match shirt was adorned by England Premier League leaders Arsenal at the weekend, during their 2-1 success over London rivals Fulham.

The green, gold and black adidas-designed strip for the 2022-23 campaign celebrates the large Jamaican fans and was showcased to coincide with London’s annual Notting Hill Carnival.

Arsenal described their new kit as “a vibrant display of energy and style, presented as a bold, all-over geometric print in the colours of the Jamaican flag”.

The Jamaica Football Federation recently announced a deal with German-based adidas, who will be supplying new kits next year for both the Reggae Boyz and the 2023 World Cup-bound Reggae Girlz.

Arsenal, the 13-time League champions, declared that their latest kit is a tribute to those who call both north London and Jamaica home.

Ian Wright, the former England and Arsenal striker who was born in London to Jamaican parents, enthused: “This represents Arsenal’s history of supporting its players, fans and communities. The club was always a safe place for me to celebrate all the different parts of my history and heritage.”

Arsenal’s Jamaica-inspired jersey is available to purchase from Arsenal Direct.
