One COVID-19 Death, 99 New Cases Recorded Locally
Jamaica recorded one COVID-19 related death and 99 new cases on Friday, the Ministry of Health and Wellness has revealed.
The deceased is a 45-year-old male from St Catherine.
The death toll from the coronavirus island-wide now stands at 271.
The tally of cases on record for the island is now 11,608.
Recoveries increased by 132, bringing total recoveries to 7,799.
The newly confirmed cases are comprised of 55 females and 44 males, with ages ranging from one to 92 years. The cases were recorded in Westmoreland (16),
St James (16), St Catherine (16), Manchester (15), St Ann (six), Clarendon (five), Hanover (five), Kingston and St Andrew (five), St Thomas (five), St Elizabeth (four), Trelawny (four), and St Mary (two).
There are eight moderately ill patients and seven critically ill patients among the 3,383 active cases now under observation in Jamaica.
