COVID-19 Cases In Jamaica Rise To 223
Jamaica’s tally of COVID-19 cases has risen from 196 to 223.
This after the addition of 27 new cases.
Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Christopher Tufton made the announcement on Monday while speaking at a digital press conference at Jamaica House.
Of the 27 new cases, 19 are females and four are males. 26 of the new cases have been linked to the Alorica call centre in Portmore, St Catherine.
Currently, there are 34 imported cases of COVID-19, six are related to local transmission with no epidemiological link, 47 are contacts of confirmed cases, and 137 cases are under investigation.
Globally, at least 2,499,667 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed with at least 171,338 deaths linked to the disease.
There have been 6 COVID-19 related deaths locally.
