Jamaican Dollar Continues to Revalue, May Re-enter $128 to US$1 Territory

Jamaican Dollar Continues to Strengthen

The Jamaican dollar, based on trend data from the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) has gained strength in all but one day in the month of  June thus far.

If this continues, the dollar, which revalued by 34 cents over last week could very well return to $128 selling territory against the US dollar during this trading week.

The dollar’s key selling rate started trading on Monday at $129.01 from $129.35 a week ago. Additionally, the dollar now trades at $128.15 to purchase which already shows it at that psychological level.

Since June, the dollar revalued by $1.06, pulling it back from $130.07.

The British Pound Sterling closed at $162.63, while the Canadian dollar closed at $97.83.
