Young Reggae Boyz Defeat El Salvador 3-1 in CONCACAF U-17 Championship
On Wednesday Jamaica’s young Reggae Boyz revived their dying campaign by defeating El Salvador 3-1 in their crucial Group C CONCACAF Under-17 Championship game at the Estadio Maracana.
Kaheem Parris scored a brace – in the 83rd (penalty) and 90th minutes.
But it was Ricardo McIntosh who first found the net for Jamaica in the 17th minute. El Salvador’s lone goal was scored from the penalty spot by Ronaldo Cerritos.
Jamaica scored two goals with ten men on the field however as defender Calwayne Allen received his marching orders in the 63rd minute after receiving his second yellow card.
Jamaica now has a chance of progressing but will need to produce a great performance on Saturday when they take on Mexico.
The young ‘Boyz’ were thrashed 5-0 by the USA in their previous game.
