Teenager Allegedly Commits Suicide in St James
Police are reportedly investigating an apparent suicide that took place in St James last night (April 25).
The deceased is 18-year-old Shanae Grant of Dumfries District.
She attended the Knockalva Agricultural High School in Hanover.
Friends and family are reportedly in a state of shock following the incident.
According to Irie FM, some time after 8:30 PM yesterday, Grant’s mother reportedly became suspicious after making several checks regarding her whereabouts as she had not seen her for a while.
Grant’s body later discovered hanging by a length of rope from a Jack Fruit tree.
She was reportedly highly regarded by members of her community.
