U-17 Reggae Boyz Struck By Flu-Like Infection Ahead of Must Win Mexico Clash
Seven members of Jamaica’s national under 17 football team have reportedly come down with a flu-like infection ahead of a crucial game against Mexico at the CONCACAF Under 17 Championship in Panama.
The player most severely affected is Akeem Mullings who reportedly fainted and needed to be carried to hospital.
It is believed the players became ill by contracting a virus which is affecting the community.
The other players affected are Damani Osei, Richard Thompson, Kimmani Gibbons, Casseam Priestley, Daniel Russell and Nicque Daley.
Both teams enter Saturday’s match on 3 points after recording a win and loss a piece in their opening 2 games.
Mexico however has the better goal difference, needing only a draw while Jamaica needs a win to progress.
The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30pm .
The young Boyz lost their opening game 5-0 to the United States but rebounded nicely in their second game with a 3-1 victory over El Salvador.
