Four Police Officers Charged in Fatal Shooting at Party
On Tuesday (December 13), four police officers were arrested by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), for the shooting of a patron at a dance in St Catherine in January.
The men, who are members of the police Traffic Division were charged for unlawfully discharging their firearms in a public place and willfully making a false statement to mislead the commission.
INDECOM identified the cops as constables Dumar Ducally, Leeshawn Billings, Noel Ingram and Davion King.
They were taken before the St Catherine Parish Court where they were each offered bail in the sum of $100,000, with one surety.
A stop order was placed on them and they were ordered to return to court on March 6, 2017.
The charges stem from the fatal shooting of Romeo Mark and the discharge of firearms at an event in Crescent District, St Catherine on January 24.
It is alleged that Ducally, Billings, Ingram and King were in attendance at a party in Crescent District on January 24. During the event, a song selection triggered the support of patrons, some of whom fired their weapons in a gun salute.
It was discovered that Marks was shot. He subsequently died.
