Reggae Boy Andre Blake Named MLS Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year
Reggae Boy is No. 1 goalkeeper in all of MLS
Jamaica’s Andre Blake was on Thursday (November 17) named 2016 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.
Blake who plies his trade for the Philadelphia Union beat out Luis Robles of the New York Red Bulls and Tim Howard who plays for Colorado Rapids to take the coveted award.
The 25-year-old ended the the regular season with an impressive total of 99 saves.
Blake has also solidified his status as the number one goalkeeper for the Reggae Boyz in recent times and is expected to be between the sticks for Jamaica in next year’s Gold Cup tournament.
It was practically a unanimous vote for Blake as he beat his runner up Robles by a massive margin to claim the award.
