R.I.P. Dominic

“Life is not about the story that is told about us but it is the story that we tell others by the way we live.” – Lyle PurpleHeart

When a nation is touched by the unexpected demise of a talented young leader, you can tell that our humanity is still with us.

The brazen hold of death limits itself to no boundaries or venues.

Sometimes, it is without personal fault that we lose the breath that sustains us but to the mystery that it is our time.

This is not a PurpleHeart moment of creatively putting words together: it is a moment of Black, Green and Gold!

A moment where a nation stands still in the shock death that has devastated teammates; coaching staff; a school; relatives and friends; a family; a community; the football fraternity; and a nation.

I sincerely wish that words could heal that part of us which is now broken but, in time, I hope hearts will accept life’s most cruel joke called death.

My heartfelt condolences to everyone who has been torn by Dominic’s death, especially his family which is now a member short.

May peace find itself in your hearts as much as peace has found his soul. Life is not without surprises but death has sprung another one that we all weren’t prepared for.

R.I.P. Soldier boy. You did well!
