Portia Continues as PNP’s President, Hanna Misses Out on VP Position
On Saturday, September 17, delegates returned Portia Simpson-Miller as president of the People’s National Party (PNP).
She received a massive 2471 votes from delegates compared to a paltry 198 received by her opponent Dr Karl Blythe.
A total of 2669 ballots were cast.
PNP member Lisa Hanna was unsuccessful in her bid to become a vice president for the party.
Dr Fenton Ferguson, Noel Arscott and Angela Brown Burke all retained their vice-president posts with 2,479, 2,207 and 2,009 votes respectively.
Dr Wykeham McNeill grabbed the other available spot with 2,395 votes.
Hanna received only 1,570 votes.
