Bolt, Blake Reach Final in Men’s 100m – Rio Games
Just moments ago Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake qualified for the men’s 100m finals at the Olympic Games currently underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Bolt comfortably won his semi-final in a time of 9.86s despite easing up considerably long before crossing the finish line.
Andre De Grasse of Canada was second in a time of 9.92s while Trayvon Bromell of the United States was third in 10.01s.
Yohan Blake was bested by Justin Gatlin of the United States in his semi-final. Blake clocked 10.01s behind the American who crossed the line in 9.94s.
Nickel Ashmeade was fifth in his semi-final with a time of 10.05s. France’s Jimmy Vicuat took that sprint with a time of 9.95s.
The final takes place at 8:25pm (local time) – 9pm ET.
