VIDEO: Gatlin Breaks Bolt’s 100m World Record With Aid of Giant Fans

Despite his greatest efforts, American sprinter Justin Gatlin simply cannot beat Jamaica’s Usain Bolt.

In 2009, Bolt broke his own 100m world record in the final of the World Athletics Championship when he recorded a blistering 100m time of just 9.58 seconds.

In the previous year, he stunned the World at the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing by clocking 9.69seconds over the same distance.

It seems Justin Gatlin is willing to do almost anything to dethrone Jamaica’s legendary sprint phenom as the world’s fastest man.

A video of him breaking Bolt’s 100m world record with the aid of some absurdly large fans is now making its way around the internet.

In the clip the giant fans propel the American sprinter along the track to record a 100m time of 9.45seconds.

According to the Mirror UK, the bizarre video comes from his appearance on Japanese TV show Kasupe! back in 2011, and has gone viral after re-emerging online.

The strength of the “wind” was FOUR TIMES the legal limit allowed for records in competition, however we doubt Gatlin cares too much about that.
