Chris Gayle to Sue Australian Media Company Over Claims He Exposed His Genitals to Woman
Prolific batsman Chris Gayle who has received harsh criticism in recent times for asking out a reporter during a live TV interview will take legal action against Fairfax Media over reports that he showed a woman his genitals last year in a dressing room during the Cricket World Cup.
Gayle’s management team recently stated that he strongly denied the allegations, first published by Fairfax Media – one of Australia’s largest media companies.
The statement adds that despite such denials, Fairfax Media continues to publish the false and defamatory allegations, which have received widespread republication in media throughout the world.
As a result, Gayle has retained Mark O’Brien, a leading Australian Media Lawyer to immediately commence defamation proceedings against Fairfax Media.
Gayle was recently fined $10,000 by his franchise, the Melbourne Renegades, following his interview with McLaughlin on Monday night.
