Girl Power! Jamaican Female Kickboxer Nets Gold in Germany (Video)
Jamaica’s female combined martial arts team captain, Sheckema Cunningham, recently won gold at the International Sport Kickboxing Association’s (ISKA) International German Open.
The Open is a German qualifier for the World Championships to be held in Stuttgart, May 2016.
Cunningham is the first Jamaican to have a medal at the historically tough European tournament and the sole black female competitor among 1,700 fighters.
She now qualifies for the World Championships next year.
Cunningham won silver at the ISKA US Open in July and bronze at the International Taekwon-Do Federation 2011 World Championships. SO WE DWEET!
