Elaine Thompson to Face Shippers, Felix at Diamond League Meet
Jamaica’s superb sprinter Elaine Thompson will once again attempt to get to the finish line ahead of the world 200m champion Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands at the second Final of the IAAF Diamond League in Brussels on Friday.
Thompson will also be challenged by the 2012 Olympic champion and 3-time World champion Allyson Felix of the United States.
Jamaica’s women’s 400m team is comprised of Christine Day, Novelene Williams-Mills, and Stephanie McPherson.
They will face-off with Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas and Americans Francena McCorory and Natasha Hastings.
Nesta Carter and Asafa Powell will line-up against Justin Gatlin in the men’s 100m, while Jamaica’s Nickel Ashmeade will face Gatlin over 200m.
Kimberley Williams is scheduled to compete in the women’s triple jump event.
