She made it look oh so easy.
Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson appeared to be in excellent form when she comfortably won her 200m heat at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China today.
Running in Heat 4, Thompson was so far ahead of the field at 150 metres into the dash that she was able to win comfortably despite slowing to almost a standstill before crossing the finish line.
Veteran Veronica Campbell-Brown also won her heat with a time of 22.79 seconds.
Sherone Simpson secured a spot in the semi-finals as well after clocking 22.52 seconds to finish second in her heat behind Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith who clocked 22.22 seconds.
