400 Workers to Lose Jobs in Hotel Shutdown
The management of the renowned Ritz-Carlton Resort in Rose Hall, St. James informed its staff members that the hotel will be shutdown on May 20 and all positions will be made redundant.
400 workers will lose their jobs. The hotel is owned by the Urban Development Corporation and the Rollins family and has been up for sale for nine years. It was sold for over US$70 million to hotel group Playa, which will rename the resort.
